DIY Projects
My DD and I (along with her wonderful bridesmaids and some of their moms) had several years to plan her and FI's wedding so we had lots of time to try some DIY projects. Here are the results of all of our labors.
Invitations
DD's uncle is a wonderful graphic designer. As his wedding present to DD and SIL, he designed the Save the Dates, Invitations, Inserts and Wine Bottle Labels. He did an awesome job and we couldn't have done it without his help.
The STD magnets were ordered from Vistaprint and attached to the cards with removable glue dots.
Once the everything was designed and printed, we assembled the invitations. We ordered the pocketfolds and all of the paper from Cards and Pockets.

Card Box
We used paper mache boxes and covered them with silver polyester silk shantung fabric using spray glue. Since the glue caused some dark spots on the fabric, we then spray painted it with a platinum spray paint. That evened out the color, but still let the fabric texture come through. We then added ribbon, feathers and some bling, and voila!
The "Cards" sign was ordered from Crafty Eddy and painted using acrylic paint.

Table Numbers
We got the numbers and stands from Crafty Eddy. After spray painting everything silver, we added 16ss and 20ss flatback Swarovski crystals to the front of the numbers. The crystal color is peridot.
Napkin Rings
In order to add a little extra sparkle to the table DD decided that she wanted to make beaded napkin rings for everyone. We used alternating iris blue and amethyst crystal beads on child size memory wire for the ring. Then we added a peacock feather to tie in the peacock feather color scheme to the ring. They were a huge hit. People left wearing them as bracelets and even a few were used as earrings.
Petal Cones
When DD and SIL left the chapel after the ceremony they were showered with freeze dried hydrangea petals. We made these cones to hold the petals. Each guest was given a cone full of petals as they left the chapel. The second picture shows all of the cones piled up waiting to be filled with petals.
Cake Topper
DD made the lovely crystal spray the topped her cake. She used Swarovski crystal drops at the end of silver wire. It added just the right finishing touch to the gorgeous cake made by Kelly at A Piece O' Cake.
